How Refrigerant Leaks Can Start in Your Air Conditioning System

One of the worst problems that your residential air conditioner can face (and a problem we’ve written about before) is a loss of refrigerant from leaks. Since refrigerant is supposed to remain at the same charge for the duration of the AC’s service life, a drop in that charge from leaks will lead to the system suffering a decline in cooling power and eventually major component damage. It takes HVAC technicians to repair leaks and recharge refrigerant to its proper level.
